Zerodha

Introduction

Zerodha was founded by Nithin Kamath in 2010 with the goal to break all barriers that traders and investors face in India in terms of cost, support, and technology. Zerodha provides access to India Equities for clients in India with no minimum balance required. Zerodha also provides a mutual fund investment platform and an interactive portfolio dashboard.

The Zerodha data provider serves asset prices from Zerodha's Kite Connect API. This page explains our integration with their API and its functionality.

Sourcing

The Zerodha data provider sources data directly from Zerodha's Kite Connect API. If you use this data provider, Zerodha only provides the security price data. QuantConnect Cloud provides the following auxiliary datasets:

For more information about the data source, see the Kite Connect API documentation.

Universe Selection

Universe selection isn't available with the Zerodha data provider.

Bar Building

The data provider consolidates prices and quotes across all of the Indian exchanges.

Alternative Data

Third-party data providers support most alternative datasets, except data that streams real-time intraday data. Streaming datasets, like the Tiingo News Feed and Benzinga News Feed, require the QuantConnect data provider.

Historical Data

The historical data that's available from the Zerodha data provider for history requests and warm-up periods is in a minute, hourly, or daily resolution. For more information about the data that's available, see Historical candle data in the Kite Connect 3 API documentation.

Pricing

The Zerodha data feed costs ₹2000/month for retail users. To view the latest prices, see the What are the charges for KITE APIs? page on the Zerodha website.
