Hello,
How can I get the price of a security at the time its drawdown started? And how can I implement this in a conditional statement? For example:
if (The price at which the security is currently trading) == (The price at which its last drawdown started):
self.SetHoldings("security", 1)
I have also attached a backtest to help clarify what I mean in an example.
Thank you.
Shile Wen
Hi Marvin,
We can keep track of the most recent drawdown by keeping track of the high-water mark of SPY, and set holdings when our price reaches the high-water mark again. Please note it is very rare for two prices to be exactly the same on two given days, so we need to add a little tolerance for the price difference. I’ve shown how to do this in the attached backtest.
Best,
Shile Wen
