apologies for the noob question, but I was curious to know some good workflows for development, using version control on my projects here. I prefer github. Do you have to develop locally to achieve this? Thanks.

Hi Ernie,
We don't provide version control in the IDE. However, if you download Lean and use it locally along with Skylight, which syncs your projects in the terminal with a directory locally on your machine, you can implement version control.
This is a great video someone made demonstrating how this can be done.
