Since i'm going multi-symbol with my algo I wanted to just have a switch that can be turned on or off for a specific symbol. So I made a (go/stop) parameter for each symbol and launched the algo.
It looks like the parameters are not changeable while i'm live.
Is that the case or is there a way to have the parameter change affect the live running of the algo (without stopping/redeploying that is)?

You can't change the parameters after you've gone live. A stop and re-deploy is the way to go - if this breaks your algorithm then you should think about why and how you can improve it. A stop/redeploy can happen for any number of reasons, and your algorithm needs to be able to cope with it.
The only way to "communicate" with your algorithm while it's running would be to give it instructions in a file uploaded to Dropbox or something similar and have the algorithm download this file once a day.

Thanks for your answer,
I was already doing the Dropbox/Drive thing, but having it all neatly packaged in QC alone sounded more attractive to me.
I'll just go back to that solution.
