Hello,
I have a Live portfolio with Interactive Brokers that's all in cash no positions. However I'm getting a " Insufficient buying power to complete order".
I believe it's because LEAN thinks my USD.CAD cash is a position therefore using up all my buying power.
Anyone with Interactive Brokers have this issue?

There was once a post from a guy that wrote his experience with QC and IB.
There was something mentioned about orders that you have to setHoldings to 0.97 or something like that.
You cant use all your money (if this is the problem)

There was maybe not enough money for paying the commission for the order that is why there has to be money left (0.97)

I'm getting the same error even if I buy 1 share. My portfolio is all in USD cash. For some reason LEAN thinks its a USD.CAD position.

Thanks for your thoughts though

write the support !!
maybe the base currency is not USD or something like that or there is another problem? are you short CAD and long dollar or something like that complicated....hm
in TWS is a button where you can close al NON BASE CURRENCY positions.
also you can switch in the account settings on the website to the desired base currency
and than write the support

Solved the problem.
Apparently the Interactive Brokers virtual FX portfolio is causing the issue. LEAN thinks this is part of your real portfolio. I closed the virtual FX portfolio position to solve the problem.

magno0113Â thanks for this. I didn't realize after buying a USD.CAD position I then have to close that position to realize the USD. I was getting exceptions in the algorithm for holding USD.CAD, but now I see why and closed it out.
