How does one configure charts so that the time axis contains market hours only? For example, in the the attached backtest most of the chart real estate in "MACD Plot" is consumed by the 16 hours of dead time between one weekday's close and the next day's open, and the dead time between Friday's close and Monday's open. Makes for kind of a weird and visually confusing chart (particulalry when one zoom's in).
Thanks for any help.

Seriously great question. Did you arrive at a solution?

Sorry, it's not possible with the charts at the moment. As the platform supports so many assets there is no one definition of market hours. Even within just equities, we support pre and post-market data.
We're doing a planned redesign of the IDE and will keep in mind for the next iteration. I've added it to our internal issue tracker / todo list.Â

Hello, has there been any updates on this since last note?

One workaround I use is to plot only the hours of interest - the hours during which my algo would trade (i.e.: 7:00 to 10:30).Â
It leaves gaps between days on the chart (with a long diagonal line joining the days). Zooming into the macro time frame of interest makes these irrelevant. One idea is to also plot the close (at 4pm or 8pm if after-market) to have those diagonals show the close.
This technique uses less data points and thus allows one to plot for a longer period of time w/o wasting resources and still provide you with the relevant graphics. I used this before the plotting feature was recently enhanced with more capacity, but it may still be useful.
