Hi,
I'm trying to understand the difference between the SetHoldings vs. LimitOrder. It seems like SetHoldings just calculate the quantity needed to buy/sell based on the parameters and submit a market order, and LimitOrder just submits a limit order. However, how come in the discussions, SetHoldings is used extensively more than LimitOrder? Is there an advantage to SetHoldings that I'm not aware of? Thank you.

you got everything right.
limitorders do need management if it does not get filled. the last time i checked quantconnect does not have ask and bid prices. How to simulate limit orders? You can use the many slippagemodels here available for backtesting to simulate such stuff. But yes you are right it is better to take LimitOrders and multiply the price with a value you are willing to pay max for that stock.

OK, thank you. Many examples uses SetHoldings so I thought I was missing something.
