Hello,
When trying to launch an algo for live trading with IB, and inputing an adviser account, the system seems to require to subscripe to the $250 a month plan?
When using the personal account (under the advisor plan), this is not the case, but then the same algorithm which works fine in backtesting and live paper trading, has the following error:
"LiveTradingRealTimeHandler.Run(): There was an error in a scheduled event EveryDay: SPY: 210 min before MarketClose-3f570f24d1214707bdf43380cc0ce804. The error was IOError : (10, 'No child processes')(Open Stacktrace)"
Have searched the documentation and posts for any relevant info but have not found any. Any ideas? Thanks!
Erik

I have the 20 dollar/month subscription and for a live server I tried the 20 dollar, but my algo goes to 2048MB. So I went for the 40 dollar/ month account. But seems that IB needs to approve my paper trading account first. Why would you go for the 250 dollar/ month directly? Did you first try the first steps? For memory you can also add 10 dollar/ month. What does the stack trace say? I/O error looks like data interaction problem with hardware or file reading. What do your back test do 210 minutes before market close?

Quant Trader Erik tried to start an algo with a advisor IB account where you have a master account managing orders for your sub -accounts/clients inside the algo. :) Thats the 250 for professionals.

maybe you cannot run an algo in an account that is managed by somebody else. No idea as Erik also asks why a 250 account. By the way, take notice that in Europe, trading for others has been forbidden as of January 2. Copying signals not yet.

hmm. cannot find evidence for it in code. maybe just report a bug . I see that there is a financial advisor sample algo. It seems to require some config in ib and in your algo. In the algo there is also sample code to manage 1 single account.

The subscription system is not a bug -- "Investment Professionals" as defined by the exchanges NASDAQ/NYSE etc including Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) can use QuantConnect/LEAN to manage their clients. But this requires 1) charging professional data fee rates; and 2) can be used to manage thousands of user's accounts. We don't mind professionals using QuantConnect but seek higher rate for the service. You can design and test your algorithm for free or on an individual account.
Regarding 'No child processes' please send this to support - we had this bug in earlier version of python but it should be fixed now. (support@quantconnect.com)

thank you for explaining.

Hi Erik - noticed your youtube video. Have you been able to put the algo to use? Would love to understand what you are trying to do in that algo.
