It won't short Crypto.
Returns Invalid Order on all short entry orders.
Have tried using Order("ETHUSD",-100);
I have the brokerage set to GDAX.
I have plenty in cash for the short margin requirement.

Hi,
From what I've heard, margin trading on GDAX is either:
1) Only enabled for BTCUSD.
2) Only enabled for institutions (i.e. really big investors).
3) Disabled for everybody until further notice.
Option 3) is more likely. And without margin, you will not be able to short on GDAX, at least for the moment. In any case, if you do not intend to trade with a margin acccount, be sure to initialize your algorithm by precizing that you are using a cash account, using the following snippet (assuming you are using Python):
self.AddCrypto("BTCUSD", Resolution.Daily, Market.GDAX)  # pair to trade self.SetBrokerageModel(BrokerageName.GDAX, AccountType.Cash)  # crypto brokerage
Thank you. Cordially,
Benjamin.

"General "announcement" -- GDAX removed leverage/margin trading from all their clients. They hope later to offer to _institutional_ clients only and they have no ETA on when this might be.
We now model GDAX as a Cash Account type -- this means you cannot short or sell tokens you do not have. If you want to convert BTC -> EUR or LTC etc -- you need to _own_ the BTC in you cashbook"

Thank you so much guys.
To be clear, does this mean , for example, if I wanted to short 1 BTC, I would need to have 1 BTC in the account when the short order is placed?....or does this mean there is no shorting allowed at all , at this point?

Hi,
I think GDAX (Coinbase Pro) has enabled margin trading now. Could you please add it back?

Hi Chang,
Margin trading cryptocurrencies on Lean is not available yet for GDAX. However, margin trading is fully functional for Bitfinex, which offers over 300 cryptocurrency pairs.
