The log files fill up with many IB warning messages such as: "Brokerage Warning: Connectivity between IB and Trader Workstation has been lost." (which is usually temporary). It makes it harder (and takes awhile) to view intended log results. An option to mute/filter out all IB warnings would be a nice to have.

Followup on this idea. Turns out there are several IB messages that may be important to observe in the logs (although a uiniversal filter in/out would still be nice). Instead something that would be even better? and easier? to implement would be to simply reverse the order of the logs. This happens to be what Quantopian does. So that the most recent log lines would be at the top. After the alogl has run for several days its a chore to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the logs (takes a few minutes). If the logs were reversed then the most recent log info would be at the top (where it is arguaably more useful).

Thought I'd ask again about this again. My log files are basicially useless since there are so many IB warning messages in them (connect/disconnect, etc.) that it is taking forever to load the entire log to see just today's entries. If there could be a way to reverse the chronological order of the logs then today's entries would appear first and I could check them to make sure everything is running smoothly, etc...
Thanks!

Check the shortcut maybe?

I do see the shortcuts now (thanks), but unfortunately that is not the issue. Once everything is loaded then the shortcuts work great. BUT, the real issue is that it takes several "Loading" iterations to load the entire log. It seems to load a few pages, then display the "scroll for more", load some more, etc. (glacialy slow....). I have to do this about a dozen times it seems to get to today's events (since the most recent are at the bottom of the log). Again, if the logs were in reverse order (much like they are in Quantopian) then you could see the most recent log entries first (and not have to wait for successive "scoll more" iterations) AND preserve any security concerns with dumping market data to logs (is this why it takes so long to load them anyway?). How about a quick [Forward/Reverse] button that diplays sorted logs by datetime in ORDER BY ASC or DESC (sorry for the pseudo SQL here!)

Thanks Rob; please submit a specific live project through support so we can use to debug. If you have a particularly extreme test case it would help to have access to it to test.

Just a note for this thread; we merged some code here which should reduce the logging you see in live trading to 1 per disconnect.

Excellent - thanks! This should help consdierably as 90%+ of the logs were these IB disconnect messages. I'll give this a go!
