With the first quarter of 2025 wrapped up, and we're excited to share the results from the Q1 2025 Quant League! A big congratulations to all the teams who successfully navigated the markets. This quarter we ranked algorithms based on their out-of-sample, live trading returns, rewarding those who adapted to forward market conditions.

We are thrilled to announce the top 3 performers for Q1 2025:

1. Triton Quantitative Trading: 14.88%
2. Imperial College London: 13.54%
3. Stony Brook Applied Mathematics: 12.97%

1st Place: Triton Quantitative Trading (14.88%)

Securing the top spot, Triton Quantitative Trading delivered an outstanding performance, achieving a 14.88% return. Their algorithm ran a protective momentum strategy, using momentum based and efficient frontier selection with risk hedging.

Congratulations team! Jerry Yang, Rudy Osuna, Carter Tran, and Marc Boudames.

2nd Place: Imperial College London (13.54%)

Imperial College London earned a well-deserved second place with a strong return of 13.54%. Their algorithm deployed a dynamic momentum strategy for large-cap tech stocks with adaptive market exposure and risk management. The effort was primarily led by Jay Kanda.

3rd Place: Stony Brook Applied Mathematics (12.97%)

Rounding out our top three is Stony Brook Applied Mathematics, who achieved an impressive 12.97% return. In contrast with the other teams, Stony Brook focused on momentum reversal - scanning the top 1000 stocks for short and medium term reversions. Congratulations to the team: Zilin Chen, Greeshma Balahadra, and Yu Chen!
