HI QC,
I have an options model that I'd like to out of sample test, but I coded to execute strangles and I can't my IB account can't trade naked options with unlimited risk.
I could test the signal as a picklist (It doesn't trade often). Is there a cheaper way than having a seat and extra compute etc.. to just send a notification to my email or phone? Or next best, Logging in to the out-of-sample run daily…

Yes, you can set up live trading notifications to be notified of market events and your algorithm's performance. QuantConnect supports email, SMS, and webhook notifications for live trading algorithms. However, if you run a local algorithm with LEAN or the LEAN CLI, the notification services aren't available.

Please note that the number of notifications you can send for free in QuantConnect Cloud is limited. You can check the quotas here.
If you don't receive an email notification that you're expecting, make sure to check your junk folders.
For automatic email sending in real-time, you might need to upgrade or use a free student account to unlock live trading services, as automatic email sending is only supported in live mode. However, with a paper trading account with no buy/sell code, no trades will take place, only the emails will be sent.

so that's what I'm talking about - I tried to start a live account and it seemed the cheapest I could go was 60 dollars after seat, CPU Cores etc… When did it get so expensive.
I recall trading on IB for 19$ a month…
My question I guess - What is the cheapest I can Papertrade for?

QuantConnect offers live trading for free for all students logging in with a .edu address. If you're not a student, the costs associated with renting a live server for paper trading start at $20/month with a Prime membership. This is the cheapest option for paper trading on QuantConnect.
Please note that these costs are associated with the resources required to run your algorithm in live mode, such as server usage and data feeds. The actual paper trading, which simulates trades without using real money, does not incur any additional costs.

The base cost for a Prime subscription on QuantConnect is $20 per month. This includes a 512 MB server for running your algorithms. However, if you choose to upgrade your server or add additional resources, the cost will increase.
For example, if you choose a 1024 MB server instead of the included 512 MB server, there will be an additional cost, which could bring the total to $60 per month.
