So here is a new idea I started working on today that is based on Renko charts. For those of you who don't know (I also only found out about them today!), Renko charts are variable in time and a new bar is only created after a specific amount of price movement. Attached is an example of an extremely simple algorithm that buys or sells after a specified number of up/down movements.
As you can see, it performs relatively well until mid July, and then it starts tanking. Anyway, I'm really excited to experiment more with Renko chart based algorithms.
