I received this email from IB, anyone know if this will impact live trading on QC?
Important Reminder About Your Account Security
Dear Client,
As cyber criminal activity continues to exist, it is critical that all clients use the two-factor authentication login security we provide to protect your IBKR account. No security measures are impenetrable, but two-factor authentication provides a meaningful degree of enhanced protection. While use of this extra protection for your user l******2 has been disabled for trading platforms to-date, its use is now mandatory for trading platforms as well.
For clients who have used the opt-out as a means to facilitate automated operations, such login can now use the ability of the Trader Workstation to remain logged in for a week. This will require a re-login and with this the use of 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) only once per week.
To opt back into the protection for your trading platforms, please log in to Portal. Navigate to the User Menu (“Head and Shoulders” icon in the top right corner) and select Settings > Secure Login System, followed by the configure wheel on the right side of 'Secure Login not required for trading'. Please opt back into using the 2FA device by following the instructions on the screen.
If you do not log in to Portal before November 30, 2022, your username will be automatically opted back in.
For additional information, please reference the Trader Workstation User Guide. Should you have any questions regarding this communication or require assistance with the opt in of your device, please contact Client Services.

Hey LukeI,
QuantConnect supports "Seamless Authentication 2FA", please see this post.

I'm still confused. For those of us that have an are already running a live algorithm, what are we supposed to do? Redeploy to get that 2FA trigger? Since the 2FA will only be valid for a week, does this also mean we have to redeploy every week?
Louis Szeto
Hi Jon Quant
It is not necessary to redeploy the algorithm if you extend the 2FA valid period for each week. Notification will pop up in your IB Key device when the validation was expiring, asking you to validate the re-login process by the live algorithm. Complete that will allow your live algorithm continue running.

hi, Louis Szeto so a week after (re)deployment at some random time (maybe at night) I would get an authorization message, on which I should respond within 3 minutes to keep my algo connected to brokerage? This does not look right to me. Could you at least make a button to refresh 2FA for live algo manually, so it would be possible to trigger 2FA message when it is convenient for me? Otherwise it seems the only real way to keep it running is to redeploy manually every week...

Hi Yuri, We're working now to make it a configurable time set in the brokerage model.
Thank you for your patience. IB forces these updates on everyone with very little notice, so we have to quickly engineer and test systems to push them to production.

Thank you Jared. This makes more sense to me rather than blindly accepting a 2FA prompt at a random time hoping it's a legit request coming from my algorithm.
Jamie Kurtz
Is there an update for this? It seems, at least on my IB account, you can no longer opt out of 2FA - even partially.
