Vladimir Is there perhaps a newer update on the addition of weeklies?
The last update was from 5 months ago implying they were in the works. So I'm hoping that I can eventually rely on them arriving to the platform
This is important for my adoption of qc or continuing with the development of my own infrastructure, thanks!

Hi Eric,
Weekly SPX Options are still not available. We don't have an ETA at this time, but we intend to add them in the future.
Best,
Derek Melchin

Hello dear community and staff,
the company I work at and the whole developer team is waiting for the launch of weekly SPX options in the QuantConnect framework.
It would be a huge advantage if QuantConnect would add the weekly SPX options!
Is there any ETA for weekly SPX options?
Kind regards
Nico Xenox
Hey ossenbrueck,
take a look at this file right here:

Hello Nico Xenox,
I am also interested in SPX Weekly options trading. Hence, thank you for the link.
In line 35 in the code you linked to, a “non-standard index option” symbol object is created according to the documentation in here:
Unfortunately, I do not find the documentation regarding non-standard index options detailed enough. Could you please clarify if this is a work around to simulate synthetic SPX weekly options from “normal” SPX index options for backtesting purposes? Or is this a full implementation of SPX weekly options, which can also be used to trade them in live mode through some broker? If so, which broker is this implemented for? In general, more details about the differences between “standard” and “non-standard” index option universes in the documentation would be welcome.
Thank you very much.

Hi Gabriel
Standard Index Options are European style by monthly expiration (kind of like an option backed by the index future), weeklies are non-standard, but they're real products.
Best
Louis

Was doing some weekly SPX things recently. With some help from another post in another thread I was able to get it working, but I noticed that (for me at least) this thread was the top result. So I think adding a sample backtest of weekly/0dte SPX options might be helpful for someone at some point.
I included some comments and logging to help people figure out what's going on.
