Hi all,
Has anyone gotten an error message stating “Failed to sync project with cloud for backtest. Canceling…”?. I noticed this error message has been popping up whenever I attempt to backtest after I make edits to scripts in my libraries (not the main.py file).
I made sure to save the scripts before I run the backtest, however, whenever I met with this error, my edits will be lost if I were to refresh or close and reopen the same project folder.
Does it have anything to do with the recent update/upgrade (to speed up backtests?)
Thanks.

I have the same issue while trying to debug in “QuantConnect Algorithm Environment 3.0 Beta”. Same code runs fine in Environment 2.0.
Cool nemo
+1 often code update and not sync in notebook env

I usually fix the issue by just press (CTRL+SHIFT+B) or the build project button on the top right corner. This fixed the issue, and then launch the backtest, it should be working

Hi Lucas,
Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried building the project, but unfortunately the issue persisted.

I have the same issue, using 3.0 beta

Hi,
I also have the issue very very often these days.
What worked for me 100% of the time so far is simply to hit the backtest (Play) button again (so here, I am not referring to the build button but the backtest button).

Thanks for the suggestion Fred, that doesn’t seem to work well for mine though. I got that error exactly when i tried to backtest and no matter how many times i clicked on it, it wouldn’t run.
However, i realized that using the Lean CLI would pretty much overcome this issue. Now I’m editing my scripts locally and pushing it to QC when I’m done.
Never got this error since I started using the CLI

Hi E Goh,
Thank you for reporting the above problem.
We suggest using ctrl+s to force save the file.
Best,
