Hey guys, is there a way to share the backtest result without publishing the code for the world to see?
It might be very helpful when showing the idea without giving away free IP.
Thanks :)

Hi Alberto,
Take screenshots of what you want to show us, like graphs, and post the pictures without posting the code. So do not use the “attach backtest” feature as that will include the code.
Cheers,
Fred

Hello Fred,
Thanks for your help.
It's not for support purposes I'm writing an article for public consumption and I would like to include two different backrests to make a point. So the code is really not necessary and of course, I'd like to keep it confidential :)

Alberto_Papel,
You can get key statistics and graphs for any backtest by clicking on report tub.

Hi Alberto,
I see. Well then, it is the same principle, just extract whichever results you want to publish from your backtest. One way is effectively to extract it from the backtest report. It can also be screenshots/snips.

Thanks guys :)
I'll do the extraction manually then. Just for knowledge, is there a explicit reason why the code is always published or maybe is more like a “legacy” thing that can be changed in the future?
I'm asking because having the backtest directly embed in a page is not just easier, it also look more professional and credible.
Much appreciated your support. I really like the passion that transpire in these pages from the QC staff! Good work!

Hi Alberto_Papel,
We cannot say it's a "legacy" thing, because the attached backtest feature was created with code sharing in mind and it's an important feature for community collaboration.
Yes, it can be changed in the future with the addition of an option to not include the code which would probably also disable the clone feature since there is no code to clone.
Best,
