Hi,
I'm wondering about the status of support for Java.
Running the BasicTemplateAlgorithm.java gives me what appears to be an error message in red:
SPY: asset price is $0. If using custom data make sure you've set the 'Value' property. (Open Stacktrace)
A click on Open Stacktrace opens a window with nothing in it.
I'm not so keen on porting all my existing algo code (developed in Java on my own platform setup) to C#, so I'm wondering when Java will be out of Beta into full support?
Cheers
Jared Broad
Hey Antoine, sorry but we've decided to drop Java support from the QuantConnect.com website for now. It was simply too difficult to design / debug algorithms in the IDE. We were using IKVM for the java interop which was extremely difficult to understand. We're leaving the Java project in the open source LEAN project and hope to come back to it soon when we can support a true naitive Java API.
Now we'll be supporting C#, F# and Java - meaning the IDE will cover the C-family, Functional-Family and Dynamic-Family languages.
