Hi,
I use plotly in the research enviroment for charting. It seems that iframe is used as a renderer - I wonder if it's possible to output the chart in a new tab in the default browser (to have it bigger than in an iframe).
I tried fig.show(renderer="browser") or renderer="chrome" but I get an error that no browser can be found.
Same in a local research enviroment (JupyterLab).
Has someone tried this with success (or used any other renderer than iframe?)
Thanks!

Just saw that iframe plots are additionally saved as html docs in the workspace folder / project directory under “iframe_figures” from where they can be opened with a desired browser which is a little better than directly in the JupytherLab - but scrolling/zooming is slow so I wonder if using a different renderer than iframe has a better performance. Unfortunately I still couldn't find out how to use a different renderer.

Hi Frederik,
When using the CLI, the only way to currently render interactive plots in a new browser window is by opening the files saved in the "iframe_figures" directory. The built-in plotly renderers for the various browsers don't work because the Docker container running the notebook doesn't have a browser installed.
Best,
Derek Melchin
