Here's a post where Jared mentioned a bounty.

Hoping this helps other people because I just became aware of this option.
Before, I would just bug people to help me with arcane code.
Now, I can chip in and maybe buy whoever solves the issue a cup of tea.

Let me know if there is a better way to post bounties.

Thank you Foren! BountySource is acting strangely (buggy) lately but if there is community interest in this we've experimented with a little widget on the home page of the terminal for crowd-sourcing heavy projects. We never posted it as we weren't sure how the community would feel about it.

For anyone tuning in. Seems BountySource isn't allowing one to close issues.
Disclaimer: Not that I know anything about business.
In terms of Crowd-Source-Bounty. It sounds like a wheel chair ramp to me. Most of the community won't use it, as you mentioned. Still, the ones who do will be grateful because it would allow issues that a small amount of people really need solved to also get attention. For example the majority of traders don't want to deal with options. Still, as an option trader, I need combo orders to remove the risk of just one side of a vertical filling taking it from a fixed risk to unlimited risk trade.
A news article I read a while back said a bank was thinking of getting rid of online banking because only 10-20% of customers use it. Turned out that those customers had over half the value of assets. Not that I am wealthy. Yet, futures traders seem to be wealthy due to the large account size required to trade them. Perhaps they really need some little known features.
Finally, if you charge some percent of the bounty which you deserve for making the core and the bounty system. Randomly 7% for good luck or more just throwing it out there. Then, I hope you and everyone at QC become even more wealthy. Maybe I watched too much cowboy bebop, and I'm in favor of you posting the bounty system.
By the way, E.L.O. chess style solo que next for QC!
